DUKE NUKEM 3D USER MAP (#41): Zero Zone (6 Level Demo)
18Well, I was going to wait, but CK3D's plans for the second episode for Blast Radius, Zero Zone, is just growing in scope. So here we go with the Demo Version, as six level preview of what's to come! Blast Radius was a behemoth of an episode, with many levels making me questions my sanity through my playthrough (My playlist for it will take you 1 day, 22 hours, 24 minutes, 2 seconds to finish) but its craftsmanship was superb and for those who join us for the Mapster32 Level Design aspect of the streams, its lack of use of things like True-Room-Over-Room (TROR) makes a lot of it even MORE impressive to me (I keep falling back on that technique). With Zero Zone getting a little experimental (from what I hear), I'm very intrigued of where it goes.
What we do in these streams is showcase user created content to show what kind of passion and creativity this niche community has crafted to show others what Duke Nukem 3D has to offer for any Retro Boom Shooter FPS lovers, or even old Duke Fans (like myself) who may have not dipped their toes into the user content world. Additionally, we take a look at how these 2.5D games create their 3D world from a level design perspective as I try to learn from those who came before me since I'm currently making a map of my own for Duke Nukem 3D using Mapster32, the included level editor for eDuke32.
