Lightning and electricity are made entirely out of onomatopoeias.

So, primary attributes.
Burliness for warriors, Sagacity for wizards and Nimbleness for Rogues.
Makes sense, and it just keeps making more sense as you delve deeper.

Burliness gives block chance, melee power and life points. Just what you need when toe-to-toe with a foe!
Sagacity gives mana points and magic power. All you need when casting spells, don't ya think?
Rogues get dodging, accuracy, countering and sneaking. Good, because they have less health and their weapons (stabby daggers and bolts) don't need (or get) melee power bonuses.

That said, Rogues just seem to suck? I mean, so little damage!
Not really. Crossbows don't get buffs from melee power.
Thrown weapons, Archery and Daggers are the only weapon skills rogues get.
Tinkering and Smithing define this. Smithing allows melee, or hit-to-kill weapons, that really do need melee power to kill.
Tinkering creates explosives and bombs, that don't need more on-hit damage. They have effects like explosions to finish the job.
As for daggers? Well, they have lots of piercing damage, which don't get melee power bonuses. All daggers have at LEAST one slashing, just so the game doesn't freak when calculating melee power bonus.
Archery doesn't benefit anyway, but there's plenty of bolts (on-hit and effect) to make a Crossbow worth the time and effort.

Makes sense! Rogues need time and planning to survive, which they get, by avoiding, hitting a lot, countering and sneaking around.

And wizards? All they get is Savvy, Stubborness nad Sagacity. That's sneaking, haywire, blocking, magic resistance, mana points and magic power!
Doesn't sound too useful, right? Well, it is. As you see, it all focuses on avoiding getting close. Sneaking allows escape, magic resistence nad blocking stop incoming shots.
Wizrads don't get Caddishness or Burliness, so they don't get a lot of LP. Another hint that they aren't supposed to go close to enemies. Bolas and Lockup are good ways to hold enemies back.

I love the logic they put into this game. It's so fascinating I can shits bricks made of golden ideas that pale compared to the details and humour in this game! :D
