Dyson Sphere Program Sandbox - Drag And Drop Tesla Towers And Wind Turbines
Okay, slight changes: the developers have enhanced the behavior of Tesla Towers and Wind Turbines.
Tesla Towers: drag and drop, default 10 grid squares. Hit the shift key to snap to the nearest grid corner. Tab to space out further, they don't tab-backwards from maximum.
Wind Turbines: drag and drop itself isn't new, default is now 10 grid squares rather than 9 grid squares. We can build individually closer together. Hit the shift key to snap to the nearest grid corner. Tab to space out further, they don't tab-backwards from maximum.
Had a short play with making a new planetary blueprint, very regular. Then tested how smelters, assemblers, and chemistry labs might fit between. Quite well actually, and the Tesla Towers can be drag-and-dropped to fill the gaps in power between the Wind Turbines. Definite possibility for early game.
On the whole I approve of those changes.
What I don't approve of is the screen-tear that I was experiencing when moving around at 60fps! That is really bad, they need to do an optimization pass for that. Even at 30fps there was noticeable lagging, though no obvious screen-tear.
(I run an i9, 24 cores, 5Ghz CPU. The graphics card is a GEForce RTX 4070 Ti-Super, with 16gigs of memory. It should not screen-tear like that.)
EDIT: It turns out that it was not Dyson Sphere Program that was causing the screen-tear. It was blasted windows. For some reason, it suddenly flipped the screen from 60hz to 30hz - so of course it was screen-tearing like mad.
