Looking at 10 Sega Saturn games that are not often part of the conversation about best games on the system. That makes them easy to overlook despite being fun and quite affordable.

Episode Notes:

1.
Games Covered:
Zero Divide
Mystaria
Black Dawn
Lost Vikings 2
Amok
Decathlete
Robo Pit
Pocket Fighter
Lode Runner The Legend Continues/Extra
F1 Challenge

2. The original title was Unwept, Unhonored, and Unsung on the Sega Saturn. I got it from a poem I heard that gave me the idea for the episode.

High though his titles, proud his name,
Boundless his wealth as wish can claim
Despite those titles, power, and pelf,
The wretch, concentred all in self,
Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down
To the vile dust from whence he sprung,
Unwept, unhonored , and unsung.

3. Decathlete is even looked over in its specialized genre, with Winter Heat getting more attention.

4. Opening and closing music is from Mystaria.
00:16 Passing the Test
22:18 Prelude to the Battle

5. The SNES version of Lost Vikings 2 has completely different visuals and music. It was never released on the Sega Genesis.

6. AMOK is among a number of games publisher Scavenger had in the works for the Saturn touting cutting edge graphics engines. Not many made it out, though Scorcher was released as well.

7. F1 Challenge was released in Japan as F1 Live Information. It has commentary instead of the music in the Western versions.

8. My daughter loves the simplicity of Pocket Fighter and Robo Pit. They really do appeal to younger gamers. Highly recommended if you have kids you typically dominate in fighting games.

9. All of the Japanese only games here(Pocket Fighter, Zero Divide, Lode Runner) are import friendly.

10. The vast majority of these aren't expensive. Under $30-$40 mostly.
