It was Sega's first 8 megabit cartridge and advertised as the most powerful show of software yet for the mighty Genesis platform. Did it live up to the hype? Here is my story....

Episode Notes:

1. The music before the Genesis game is showcased is from the CDROM version of Strider for the PC Engine. I always enjoyed its soundtrack.

2. The Japanese Mega Drive version of Strider has a bug where you can't beat the game if you kill all the bosses in the last stage without dying. It actually keeps the 1st boss from coming out and taking you to the Grandmaster.

3. This game can be difficult due to its limited continues. I actually needed to play it 3 separate times for this video in order to beat it. If you play it on hard, it's absolutely brutal.

4. The PC Engine version of this has an extra stage not in the Genesis or arcade versions.

5. This also came out on a ton of other devices. The Amiga, the Commodore 64, the X68000, and the Master System to name a few.

6. There is both an unofficial sequel called Strider Returns on the Genesis, as well as an official continuation on the Playstation called Strider 2.
