Heads Up:
If you are traveling west, Google may send you past the campground road into a hilly neighborhood. Don't go there.
These are primitive campsites only. Hand pumps for water. No dump station.
While some sites can accommodate larger rigs, most sites are better for smaller campers, vans, tents.
Reservations can be made at Recreation.gov.
We needed an overnight stop and we were thrilled to be in the trees and the shade after baking in the sun here in southern Colorado. East Fork Campground is in the San Juan National Forest. The San Juan River is nearby but it is not easily accessed. You can use an America the Beautiful pass here if you have one. If you are brave, you can head on down the dirt road to disperse camp for free!
What we love about East Fork Campground:
1. Large, shaded sites
2. Scenic area, large pines
3. Dog walking space
4. Quiet and peaceful
5. Friendly host
What we didn't love about East Fork Campground::
1. Limited to no Verizon service
2. Sites are primitive
