I hate mining obsidian, and I dread hauling bucket after bucket of lava for a Nether Portal. I imagine someone else has probably made a similar tutorial, but this is how I did it, and I think it's pretty slick.

Make a Nether Portal using:

1 Bucket of Water
1 Bucket of Lava
About 14 Redstone or more
Tons of dirt or some placeable block (for making mold)
Optional: A shovel (do you really want to dig with your hands?
