Scav karma is a system implemented to promote cooperation between player Scavs rather than engaging in constant firefights. Your scav karma level is indicated by your current Fence trader reputation. Let's dive into the details and learn how to optimize your scav karma to enjoy its benefits.
Understanding Scav Karma:
Different actions in the game can either increase or decrease your scav karma. It's important to note that if you have a karma level between +6 and +8, any penalties will be calculated as if you have +6 karma. For example, if you have +7 karma and kill a player Scav (-0.1), your karma will decrease to +5.9. If you have over +8 karma, there will be an additional penalty of -2. So, if you have 10 karma and kill a player Scav (-0.1), your karma will drop to +7.9.
Actions that Affect Scav Karma:
1. Kill a Scav Raider, Rogue, Rogue Boss, Cultist, or Cultist Boss as a Scav: No change in karma.
2. Use a car extraction as a PMC: On the first use, you gain +0.4 karma. Subsequent uses are calculated by '0.4 / total uses, plus current.' For example, the 4th extraction is '0.4/4 = 0.1' (displayed rounded in-game). Each location has its own count.
3. Use a co-op extraction as a Scav or PMC: On the first use, you gain +0.25 karma. Subsequent uses follow the same calculation as car extractions.
4. Extract as a Scav: You gain +0.01 karma for extracting from any location.
5. Complete a Scav task as a Scav: Karma increase varies between +0.01 and +0.04.
6. Kill a PMC that has killed at least one Scav as a Scav: You gain +0.02 karma. If the PMC killed at least two Scavs, you get +0.03 karma.
7. Help a Scav: Karma increase varies between +0.01 and +0.02.
8. Help a Scav Boss guard: You gain +0.02 karma.
9. Help a Scav Boss: You gain +0.05 karma.
10. Kill a traitor Scav as a Scav: You gain +0.03 karma. A Scav becomes a traitor if they harm a Scav, Scav Boss, or Scav Boss guard.
11. Kill an AI-Scav as a Scav: Karma decrease varies between -0.03 and -0.05.
