Mystery of Elan Doll

(I found this rummaging through some of my old files. Updated it a bit and decided to post it here)

Some people, such as myself, have been wondering for a long time about the striking similaties between the climax of Starship Rendezvous' enddemo and the (unused?) piece called "Elan Doll" from the XZR soundtrack.
Something that also didn't go unnoticed on Japanese blogs; see here:
http://buiin.exblog.jp/72238
and here:
http://buiin.exblog.jp/72216

As you may know, these two games are completely unrelated and also don't share any (music) staff members.
For a comparison of the two, see here.

Later on, I noticed that the PC-88 and X-1 versions of XZR feature the track "The Gulf Crisis"

- and the X-1 version is here:
https://youtu.be/am39WNXtqVA?t=11m6s
which doesn't seem to be present in the MSX2 version, but unmistakenly is related to this song:

from the Starship Rendezvous soundtrack
- the PC-88 version of the song:

shows even more similarities.
I always assumed XZR's music was done by Shinobu Ogawa and Tenpei Sato only, but after some more research, I found this page:

on VGMdb, where someone called "Yujiroh"
http://vgmdb.net/artist/8150
is credited for a lot of the tracks (generally some the nicer ones, too). Seeing as "The Gulf Crisis" is also credited to this Yujiroh, this may well be a big piece of the puzzle.

Having left you with hopefully some interesting information, it's only appropriate to wish you all a Merry Christmas!

(this is just an in-between thing - I'll get back to uploading original game soundtracks and my new remakes soon)
