Released in 2022 Elden Ring took the gaming world by storm and dazzled a wider audience than any other souls game. But how did it differ from earlier titles and was that a good thing? I'm a Souls game grognard always grumbling about changes to my favorite action-RPG series so if you're willing to hear some criticisms about Elden RIng stick around and I'll try to explain why I think it branches off negatively from the Souls origins.
