The second phase is basically a battle between two glass cannons and a race to see who can kill who first in a short amount of time.
Honestly tried doing this fight solo, but Maliketh just melts me, man. The best I've done is being one hit away from victory. I love my Banished Knight Envgall, but he was almost useless in this fight.
