Elevator Action Returns: Deathless 1cc run [Edie Burret, Normal]
1cc = 1 credit clear, usually an arcade game completed without using any continues.
Trying out some Sega Saturn games and this one is one of the best for the system.
Although it is technically an arcade game, this game has limited continues. It is also the only console port to have a functional machine gun as the later Taito Legends port disabled rapid firing from a machine gun.
Differences in difficulty?
What I have noticed is that the delay of the enemy changing from
Ready to Fire pose to firing his gun is affected by difficulty.
So if the game was set to easy, you have a lot of time to respond to an enemy but if the game was set to very hard, once the enemy is at a Ready to Fire pose, he will fire his gun immediately, basically their reactions is a lot faster.
Is this game speed run worthy?
Yes, there's loads of different strategies with pros and cons.
The first stage requires RNG luck to manipulate an enemy spawn to damage the player and avoid having to wait for the elevator to come down.
Easy has the advantage to run past some enemies thanks to their slower response from Ready to Fire pose but Very Hard has a small advantage when it comes to taking intentional damage to skip having to wait for a lift (like stage 1).
