The Royal Knight is the unique heavy melee cavalry unit of the French in Age of Empires IV which replaces the Knight.

The main difference between it and the regular Knight available for other civilizations, is that the Royal Knight can be produced in the Feudal Age. It also has bonus damage for 3 seconds following a charge. It can be upgraded to a Veteran Royal Knight in the Castle Age (50 Food, 125 Gold, 30 seconds), as well as the regular Elite Royal Knight in the Imperial Age (300 Food, 700 Gold, 90 seconds).
