Elon Musk's Shocking Personal Behavior: Why is it Accepted Simply Because He is Wealthy?
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is known for his ambitious plans to save humanity and colonize Mars. But now it seems he's taking on a new mission: to single-handedly boost the United States' birth rate.
This week, Musk tweeted that he is "doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis" and that a "collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far." He was referring to the news that he secretly had twins with one of his company's executives last year, bringing his child tally up to nine known children.
But Musk's tweet raises questions about his personal behavior and whether it should be accepted simply because he is wealthy and successful.
The news about the twins comes days after Musk's 18-year-old child Vivian Jenna Wilson was granted a name and gender change in California, removing "Musk" from her legal name and selecting a first name reflective of her gender identity. Wilson told the court she wanted the name change due to "the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father [Musk] in any way, shape or form."
Musk's personal life has been marked by multiple relationships and children with different women. In March, his girlfriend Grimes revealed she had welcomed a second baby with Musk, named Exa Dark Sideræl. Grimes later tweeted that the two had broken up, but that Musk was still "the love of my life."
According to Insider, Musk and Amber Heard, who briefly dated in 2016, may also have frozen embryos together. During the Depp-Heard trial, the boss of Heard's sister testified that she heard from Heard's mother that the actress was "in a legal battle with him over the rights to embryos they had created together." She added: "He wanted to destroy them, and Amber tried to keep them to have a baby."
Musk's tweet about his efforts to help the underpopulation crisis may be seen as tone-deaf given his personal behavior and the fact that the United States' birth rate has been declining for decades due to a variety of factors, including rising costs of living and declining fertility rates.
Furthermore, his tweet raises questions about whether his behavior should be accepted simply because he is wealthy and successful. It's important to hold individuals, regardless of their wealth and status, accountable for their actions and the impact they have on others.
The United States' birth rate may be declining, but that doesn't give Musk the right to act as a one-man population boom. It's time for Musk to take responsibility for his personal behavior and the impact it has on those around him.
