Emperor Ing's final form has more than one weak spot, but the other five are invisible, laying behind each foot. These points aren't solid and they're only vulnerable to Screw Attack for whatever reason. However, because these remnants of a beta Emperor exist, it is possible to kill Emperor Ing without the use of any beams or ever going after his heart. Simply Screw Attack into the area behind each foot. That's pretty much it. Now when EI3 clams up, it's not a waiting game, but time to take a free shot.

Do note that you have to get close to the ground to hit, which is why it can be difficult to do major damage at times. Also, the only indicator (aside from the energy bar and his death cutscene) that you've hit lies in the Emperor being shoved around. If he's pushed significantly, he's definitely lost more than half of his energy.
