ENCODYA is a Point&Click Adventure with more or less classic mechanics. If you Left Click on something, it opens a prompt with a single or sometimes multiple options. If there is only one option to choose from, it's usually the Magnifying Glasses, to inspect different things. But you also can get options like to take something, to use, or to pull on something. Some NPC can also be talked to. A bit more unique is, that you have two characters in control. One is the 9 Year old Tina, who lives on the streets since her mother died and the other one is her Nanny Bot SAM. You can switch between both characters and need to do that in certain cases. Many NPC only talk to Robots other only to Human. Some tasks that require small hands, some tasks require raw strenght. The height of both characters also plays a role.

For the sake of the Video i replayed the first chapter, to put many things in a "short" amount of time. Reason for this is, that i simply didn't see or know that you could interact with certain things. It's partially hard to make out, that something is to interact with. Yes old Point and Click Adventure where the same, they didn't highlight any interactible object. But since the resolution was lower, there wheren't too many places to click on. For example i found the electronic store by a complete mistake. When i look at the picture, nothing indicates, that there is a electronics store. But you need to go in there to get the RAM for the nasty robot. So this is a bit frustrating.

The good part of the Game seems to be the Story. It's a bit sad, that Tina lives in total poverty on the street, but this also gives her the task to find essential items like food and shelter. Also the bigger plot that is going on, that she isn't aware of it yet. The whole setup looks like a classic scenario for a Film and that is already a good sign. When you characters got the right motivation to go on.
