Blade Kitten is a sidecrolling Platformer in a 3D look. But not like older Games like Klonoa or Pandemonium, where the Camera shifts around and pans with the path. Here the camera is more static.
This gives it a less dynamic look, but also improves the precision, since you can better grasp where you can land or still walk on. One thing that was a bit weird, is the standard control setting. It should use the Mouse and Keyboard, but no matter which button i pressed on the Keyboard, our little Blade Kitten didn't want to move. So after a restart, i changed the options to use the Gamepad instead and this works fine and pretty well.

The Kitten is pretty nimble, aside the normal movements, she can also climb across walls and ceilings she also knows how to perform a double jump.
This wall climbing only works if the surface is rough, which works for most things. But clean metal or obisian looking like crystalised surfaces can't be climbed on. So you still need to do your platforming and can't climb around them. The other reason to stay on the ground is to find the many secret paths, that leads you to collectibles that also work as currency.

In the Video sequences, the Kitten comes with a over the top facial expression which also can be seen in the little character Window on the lower screen. If you get damaged, you replenish your health over time. If you try from too much damage or by a deathtrap, you get transported back to your last of the many checkpoints in the levels.

The price for the regular Game is pretty cheap. This is the same Game you could get originally 2010 for the Playstation 3. After it got another release it got a second episode. So if you're hungry for more, you can extend the original Game, or get it in one package.
