This is my arrangement of the intro theme from Konami's Policenauts for native SNES playback.

The audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES deck.

I know that it's not quite Christmas-themed, but the intro to Policenauts always reminded me of Christmas with the snow and the way the 'doo doo doo' sounds.

I mean, doesn't it remind you of the holidays? Even if not, you probably recognize it from the opening of Metal Gear Solid. Kojima certainly likes his staple elements, doesn't he?

Anyways, I wanted to do something somewhat holiday themed for a music upload for today, so this is what I came up with. That drum part... was quite tricky to get down. I never realized just how many percussive instruments were used in this track until I set about recreating it!

And I think I found a new personal favorite sample while making this - I used one of the lead synths from Final Fight's sample bank here, and it amazed me how well it meshed. Whoda thunk it? :)
