Epic Battle Fantasy 5 #9: Get in the fucking box, Laurelin
Farming route is probably as optimal as it gets, at least for now. Exp for levelups is definitely great, but not as much as the 30-something thousands of AP, which allows you to boost the shit out of your limit breaks to chain the bosses and finish them before they could delete your party from the face of Earth.
============
Unlike other EBF games, enemies in EBF5 are so bullshitly strong you ain't destroying them anytime soon, if you don't abuse the shit out of the given status effects and damage boosters. In EBF3, it's just spamming random shit. EBF4 requires some elemental damage boost effects knowledge, but not too much. Here, it is essential. You could see it from the way I could consistently&quickly delete the squids duo by abusing Invisible + Stagger and summoning random shit.
=========
Here, you can witness a substantial stratergy in dealing with bosses in this game: One (or few) Turn Kill (OTKs). Bosses are fucking bullshit. Jotun might be easy, but anything starting from Lance is just straight up cancerous bullshit if you fight them normally. It's way better for your sanity to just, you know, delete them in 3 turns.
If you were to fight it normally, Laurelin is an unreasonable piece of shit. Wide variety of elements, a billion status effects, extreme buffs&debuffs (and Dispel, why the fuck) and most importantly, attacks twice per turn. I could deal with the elemental attacks, but NOT the double attacks. It makes Laurelin either bullshitly resilient (constantly healing for way too much), or way too offensive (literally wipes out your entire fucking party in a single turn, even with full buffs and debuffs). So, to skip this gigantic tree's bullshit, I just speedkill it.
===========
Stratergy: (with maxxed Limit Breaks thanks to the extensive grinding I did)
Turn 1:
Natalie uses 7th Heaven to buff the entire team, enough said.
Anna uses Mother Earth to bless the entire party, which prevents Laurelin from dispelling the party when it gets a turn (notice how I adapt my stratergy after I find out Laurelin could dispel you)
Matt buffs himself to gain extra Crit rate for the next round.
Turn 2:
Lance debuffs Laurelin's Physical Defense
Someone Enchants Laurelin to prepare for Matt's Limit Break
Matt deletes 80% of the tree's HP by using Cleaver.
From turn 3 onwards, just do whatever the hell you want. Nuke it with Lance, or use Nolegs Doll to reduce its evade and give it bad luck. Go to Jeff's house and get the Focus (or something) skill for free extra accuracy and good luck to help with capturing shits, or just buff Lance up manually like I did.
