[Escape] #14 - Pantry || Zero Time Dilemma (Interactive, 100%)
Part 14 of my interactive 100% playthrough of Zero Time Dilemma on PC.
In this part, we solve the puzzles of the Pantry while discovering dismembered parts of a mannequin. Huh, those parts are fake and come from a mannequin, right? RIGHT?!?
Here are some explanations about the puzzles found in this room:
—— Opening The Glass Doors ——
These puzzles can be started by interacting with the input panel next to each glass door. To solve these, you'll need the iodine solution, found next to the torso in one of the shelves.
When examining the input panels next to each door, you'll be greeted by four buttons, each one corresponding to a specific direction. Your goal is to find that code. Maybe you have noticed it already, but there's a box in the room containing three potatoes cut in half, with some text about a L-door and R-door. If you use the iodine solution on the potatoes, they'll change color and letters will appear. These letters refers to directions. So D means down, L means left, U is for up and R is for right.
All of that is good, but there are two doors, and I can see only one code. Well, look at what's written on the box. It's written "L-door" with an arrow pointing to the right, and "L-door" with an arrow pointing to the left. That means you need to enter the password from left to right to open the left door, and the same password backwards to open the right door. Doing so on the input panels will allow you to open these doors and grab whatever's inside.
—— The Dodecahedron ——
On the other side of the left glass door, you'll find a device asking you to match all the patterns of a dodecahedron by rotating its pentagons.
The puzzle itself is pretty simple, but here's a trick for you: start by matching a fruit. Once you have your first complete fruit (all sides should be perfectly aligned), simply use the vines to deduce the side of the pentagons next to it. The fruits will then confirm the orientation of your polygons. When in doubt, continue your work elsewhere and before you know it everything will be aligned nicely. Completing this puzzle will grant you a mold.
—— The Fridge Door Code ——
You can start this puzzle by interacting with the input panel next to the fridge door. You'll be greeted by a numpad lock requiring four numbers.
The main clue for this puzzle is only visible when both glass doors are opened. Remember the green and pink lines near the top of the doors? Well, they're spelling something when on top of each other: "Left Hand + Doll". Let's follow Akane's advice and try changing the words for numbers.
You can find the left hand handcuffed and stuck on a pole inside one of the shelves. You'll need to unlock the handcuff with the key (gotten from the drawer below the thermo-fridge) to be able to see the numbers. The trick to this part of the puzzle is that the numbers can be read from our point of view, but also upside down. Let's note the two numbers for now. You can find the doll behind the left glass door. A manual explaining that the color of the doll can change depending of the temperature can also be found behind the right glass door. To be able to see the numbers, you'll need to turn the doll pink by warming it in the thermo-fridge.
Now that we have both numbers, the only thing remaining is to add them together. When inputting the code on the input panel, you'll quickly notice that the upside down number for the hand is the one you actually need. Completing this puzzle will grant you access to the hand authentication panel.
