[Escape] #20 - Infirmary || Zero Time Dilemma (Interactive, 100%)
Part 20 of my interactive 100% playthrough of Zero Time Dilemma on PC.
We may be searching around the Infirmary for a vial of some kind able to get rid us of some lethal poison, but despite all that, Akane sure likes to experiment on Junpei...
Here are some explanations about the puzzles of the room:
—— The Cube Puzzle ——
To start this puzzle, you need to interact with the puzzle while in your inventory. The puzzle pieces can be found in the middle locker.
What you need to do is simple: reposition the different shapes so, when assembled, they form a perfect cube. It's mostly trial and error, but here's a trick to rapidly figure it out. Notice how there's two different textures on the cube? The gray part are meant to be hidden inside the cube, and the golden ones are those who should be seen. According to this, you can guess the position a piece needs to be just by watching where the golden faces are placed on the piece. You can slightly rotate the puzzle to help you see what's on the hidden faces of each piece. Also don't forget that some pieces are large enough to include other pieces within them, meaning you'll have to adapt a little your placement to include them properly.
For example, the piece originally in the lower left has golden faces on its top and left. Since we want those faces to be visible when the full cube is assembled, the piece should be placed on the top left. Simply continue like this until all the pieces are set. Successfully assembling the cube will net you a key card.
—— Candles, Posters and Syringes ——
To start this puzzle, you'll need the syringe, which can be found on the examination bed, as well as the bottle of ink and the lug wrench, both found inside the desk drawer. The main hint for this puzzle comes in the form of the "Card" file, which can be found inside the rightmost locker.
First, take a look at the card you found. On it, there's a picture of a filled syringe pointing to a candle. The only thing we can fill our syringe with is some ink, so let's use that. And where can we see a candle? On the poster on the wall! If you use the filled syringe on that candle, red marks will appear. Notice how the two stains it created looks like candles as well? If you use the syringes on those too, the marks will extend to the upper part of the poster. All in all, there should be four X marks on your poster now. The truth is, behind each of those X, there's a hidden screw. Unscrewing these with the lug wrench will unveil a hidden case.
—— The Antidote Case ——
To start this puzzle, simply examine the dial on the case. To actually solve the puzzle, you'll need the stethoscope, which can be found along with a white lab coat on the wall, near the exit door.
Okay, how to solve this puzzle? Is there any hint? The short answer is no, there's not any. You'll have to deduce the code somehow. How about we do like in the movies, and use the stethoscope to hear the clicks of the lock? Well, that's exactly what we need to do. Examining the lock with the stethoscope in hand will make sound waves appear across the screen.
If you've never used that kind of lock before, the way it works is there are three numbers that need to be placed near the line on top of the dial. However, you can't simply rotate the dial the way you want until all three numbers have been entered. First, you need to rotate to the right until the number is right, then rotate to the left until you reach the second number, and finally rotate to the right again until you reach the third and final number. At that point, you can open the lock. Since we don't have the numbers, we'll simply do the same thing while using the clicks to guide us. Simply rotate slowly until you hear a click, and continue on the other side until it clicks again, and on the other side again until you reach the third number. The sound wave is there to help you figure all of that out. Once you're done, the case should open, and you'll have solved the room!
