[Escape] #24 - Control || Zero Time Dilemma (Interactive, 100%)
Part 24 of my interactive 100% playthrough of Zero Time Dilemma on PC.
How about a little change of pace: nothing's dangerous at first sight, the environment looks almost peaceful... There's a lot of puzzles in the room, along with a pretty sweet remix of the Security room music from Virtue's Last Reward... Wow, that almost sounds like a dream come true.
Here are some explanations about the puzzles of this room:
—— The Switchboard ——
You can start this puzzle by interacting with the switchboard on the right side of the main console. To actually solve this puzzle, you'll need the sunglasses with the battery, which can respectively be found behind the poster and in the drawer of the machine with the knobs.
On the switchboard, you can see two columns of numbers going from 1 to 5, with the one on the right written in Roman letters. What you have to do is simple: assign each number to the left to a Roman letter to the right with the cables. However, assigning each number to its Roman letter won't work. We'll have to find some clues.
The first clue is on the poster on the other side of the room. On it, you'll see the numbers are ordered differently. Note those down. Now, if you look through the sunglasses in "A mode", you'll see lines inside a motif that ressembles that of the switchboard. Take the numbers you noted down earlier, and copy those lines there. Once combined, those two clues will give you the numbers you must assign together on the switchboard. Connect the cables appopriately will open the door of the upper left screen of the main console.
—— The Crane ——
This puzzle can be started by interacting with the lower left monitor on the main console. To solve it, you'll need the HUD sunglasses.
On the screen is a crane with four directional buttons and a "Crane down" button. Each of the buttons moves the crane in a specific way and they are each assigned to a specific sound as well, which is also displayed in text form on the screen. The hint for this can be found in "B mode" of the sunglasses. Now that we have the sound module plugged in, we can discover that each displayed scenery and number is associated with a sound.
So, what you have to do is copy these four sounds in order on the monitor, then confirm your choice by pressing the "Crane down" button. To help you with this, I suggest taking your first attempt to understand which buttons does what sound, so you can get everything right on your second attempt. Solving this puzzle will turn on the remaining fourteen screens on the main console.
—— C Mode ——
This puzzle can be started by choosing "C mode" on the sunglasses menu. To find the password, you'll need to have solved the crane puzzle and acquired the four "Card" files hidden in the room.
Each of the fourteen screens that just turned on on the main console features a letter. Additionally, each of the four "Card" file represent a map of these fourteen screens, with numbers on some of them. See a connection already? First, you should combine all four files into one to have the full layout of the numbers in one place. Now, what you need to do is simply assign each letter to its respective number by following the layout of the monitors.
Then, you can rearrange the letters so the numbers assigned to them are in order, from 1 to 14. Doing so will give you a fourteen letter sentence. Maybe you already noticed, but the password needed in "C mode" of the sunglasses also asks for fourteen letters. Simply enter that sentence there, and Zero will show you the way to end this escape.
