[Escape] #33 - Rec Room || Zero Time Dilemma (Interactive, 100%)
Part 33 of my interactive 100% playthrough of Zero Time Dilemma on PC.
Welcome to the Rec Room! Fortunately, there's no dart board in here... but there's a heart puzzle instead!
Here are some explanations for the puzzles found in this room:
—— The Chess Board ——
This puzzle can be accessed by interacting with the chess board on the table. You'll need the fire hook and the "Rules of Chess" file, which can respectively be found in the hands of the armor next to the table and on the table itself.
First, to be able to do anything with the board, you need to open it. If you look on its side , you'll see the word "CHESS" written upside down. Don't you think the letters look like numbers from that angle? Keep that in mind. If you use the fire hook on the floor trap left of the exit door, you'll be able to claim a hammer and see a set of digits, the last one being crossed out. Interestingly, the hammer also has an X on one end... And don't these digits remind you of the chess board letters? So the X must mean you have to whack that letter with the hammer you just found! So how about we give this "C" a whack? Doing so will open the board, revealing the second part of the puzzle.
Now you need to open the cylinder you just whacked out of the board. It asks for three chess pieces. If you look at the chess board, you'll see three numbers, each with specific directions around them. If you know a bit the rules of chess, you'll understand that each number refers to the specific moves each piece can do. To simplify matters, the "Rules of Chess" file lists all possible move for each chess piece! What remains for you to do is associate each number to its chess piece, and then enter those symbols in order in the cylinder. You'll get a coin and the "Number Note" file for your efforts.
—— The Roulette Wheel ——
You can find this puzzle on the roulette wheel on the game table. To solve it, you'll need the "Letter Chart" and "Number Note" files, respectively found in the helmet of the armor next to the door and in the cylinder from the chess puzzle.
You need to enter four letters on the wheel to proceed. To find them, you'll need some help from the board on the right. You'll see that four numbers are circled. Take note of their locations on the chart. Now, if you look at the "Letter Chart" file, you'll see that the letter colors correspond to those of the chart on the table. This must mean they are related! If you look at those four circled spots on the "Letter Chart" file, you'll get four letters. Now, all we have to do is find the order to put them in. If you look at the "Number Note" file, you'll see that each number is labeled with a color... like on the table! Furthermore, these are the same numbers as the ones circled on the table! All you need to do now is to re-order the letters using the sequence shown on the file, and input the word it forms on the wheel. Doing so will grant you a coin and the wheel itself.
—— The Card Equation ——
You can find this puzzle on the side of the card table after using the dice from the jukebox on the square indentations. It seems like we need to enter three digits from 1 to 6 here, but which ones?
If you topple that pretty card tower on the table, you'll see that some cards are glued and form an equation. We need to decode that. All the King cards are ripped in two on the side of the equation, which means all we have available are cards from 1 to 12... like on a calendar! If you look at that "Card Calendar" file", you'll see that each month has a letter or number in the background. Oddly enough, those correspond to card numerology! And see how the first letter of each month is red and bigger than the rest? You guessed it: you need to associate each card to its month, and then use the first letter of that month in place of the card. Doing so will reveal a word equation.
While exploring the room, you have probably seen multiple objects that referred to a number. The decoded equation refers to three of those objects. So replace those three words by their linked number, and solve the equation. Doing so will result in a 3-digit number that you can then enter on the dice, which will net you another coin.
