This video shows how the game plays using the Microsoft based emulator in GS mode. The emulator is set to output a GS reset on initialization of the X68000 CPU and the game is set to use GM. There is conflicting data online that suggests that the game doesn't support MT-32 mode (even though it implies it) but there are also websites that state it only supports an SC-55 in MT-32 mode and not a genuine MT-32 to enable MT-32 mode in-game.

The most obvious difference is genuine reverb and chorus support. This is about as close as I will get towards genuine sounding midi short of using an actual SC-55 rather than using a software version of it.
