TL;DR - overview customization since CCP added colors & fonts

I've been publishing my own personal overview since 2014, back when we didn't have 'share' ingame ability, ever since i realized that overview like "Z-S" and all the others were more tuned to nullsec and appealing to the big bloc blobs.
I like to live in low sec as a carebear, so i needed something completely different.
I presume i'd been tweaking that ingame (before publishing) since 2008...took me about 4 years after really getting into a bit of pvp to even understand i needed to learn how to fiddle bigtime.
my main motivations were to try and find a workaround to prevent the 'selected item' window from saying "no object selected" while you were travelling along a route - and to get rid of the clutter and spam from seeing mobile depots, secure cans, etc, et al.

the stuff i talk about in the video are generalized tips and tricks when customizing and not simply a showcasing of my 69th edition. now fully integrating the new color system, and highlighting a few issues that i'm sure will get ironed out.

things are alot simpler to customize, especially that "yaml" file, and fiddling with your own overview is easier now more than ever.



btw, brackets will lag you. alot. if you pvp or have issues with the game freezing on you, try to minimize the use of brackets (the icons you see in space, as opposed to the overview)...yes, if you didn't realize it, overview settings control ALOT of things outside the overview window itself. (like icons in space and even the chat window member list, and it can get complicated fast)


fyi, the is NO way to tweak your overview that will guarantee that "no object selected" will disappear from your list of shitty things ccp hasn't fixed yet...getting that result in the 'selected item' window when you're warping to the next gate in the route is going to happen regardless...(the main motivation for me to customize the overview)
