TL;DR - there are 3 different angles memorized: docked vs undocked vs view outside.

There is only one way to alter this while docked: "take control" is slaved to the same camera as when undocked.

much like the preferences of "system info", "search new eden", "route", "daily campaign" (off/on, positioning) camera angles are also memorized for each of the two states: docked/undocked.
