caveat: now, some or most of this might just might be an artifact of singularity, where i was testing.

facts so far:
#1 joining an alliance takes 24hrs (with no notifications, after the application is sent, other than that one single popup for the alliance member after he accepts the application. period)
#2 leaving an alliance apparently takes zero time at all.
#3 that annoying effing spam of "SO AND SO HAS LEFT ALLIANCE!!!111" is merely one evemail per war you have going on at the time, that transfers over to the leaving corp. yay. ikr? Thanks, Obama
#4 you cannot join an alliance if you (a) are in a war with another (b) that other was the aggressor less than 2 weeks ago that either expired or surrrendered or HQ was blown up, etc
#5 you can totally join an alliance if you (a) are joining into an alliance with someone (b) that is the aggressor in a war against a corp that recently aggressed you less than 2 weeks ago that either expired/surrendered/lostHQ/hadahysterectomy/fuckifiknow

what i'm testing in 24hr is
#6 can you leave and then rejoin an alliance that is the defender against someone who's still at war with said defender?
#7 can you leave and then rejoin an alliance that is the aggressor against someone who's still at war with said aggressor?

i think we've established that there is no situation where you could get the aggressor into a war situation - at all - with an entity that has that magical cooldown period vs said aggressor (either by preventing you joining that alliance at war with aggressor, or that aggressor trying to wardec you during any bill expiry, etc, et al.
