Part 4. Evoland 2 is freaking great. I don't know what I expected when I saw there was a sequel, but Shiro Games knocked it out of the park here. They took they basic concept of the prequel and actually turned it into a full fledged game. They took the concept of using different eras of graphics and gave actual rationale for why the graphics change. It's so freaking cool. There is a pretty decent story here as well. You have one main character and 3 secondary party members that act as your new tools for progress. There is plenty of action, but also quite a few puzzles, which really makes me happy. I really enjoyed the hidden sylphs area. The game once again mixes in a variety of game play styles, from Zelda, to shmups, to fighting games, to even mixing in a card game, which is pretty addicting. There are some fun side quests and collectibles and health upgrades. But most secrets are just cards and there are a ton of them. I certainly didn't expect a 20+ hour game out of this concept, but here we are. And it's really well done. Hell, I even went back into these games and got all of the achievements just for myself. The story is cute and does involve time travel but in an intuitive way that actually makes sense and works with the game itself. The crazy thing is that the developers went through and rendered the entire world 4 times over for each generation. It's freaking cool. Heck the entire game is freaking awesome. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
