7Evolution (エヴォリューション, Evu~oryūshon) is an Action shooter developed and published by System Sacom for the FM Towns Marty console. It was released in Japan in March of 1989.
Evolution is a simple first-person perspective 3D shooter set in an abstract environment. The protagonist represents an evolving creature who must survive an onslaught of other organisms. Forward movement is automatic, but the player-controlled character can move up, down, and to the sides. The gameplay consists solely of shooting enemies, which increases the player's score.
The FM Towns Marty is a unique console that combined the capabilities of a home computer with those of a gaming console. As such, "Evolution" was among the titles released for this system, taking advantage of its enhanced graphics and sound capabilities compared to other consoles of its time.
The game's soundtrack was composed by Manabu Saito.
