Evolve - It's DLC day! (A look at the Behemoth and 4 new hunters)
0Hello all. It's time for Evolve's first DLC! It includes one new monster (Behemoth) and 4 hunters. The hunter classes each get one new person which includes Sunny, Torval, Crow and Slim.
Sunny is the new support. She provides a deployable shield generator, a boost to jet pack speed and fuel, and a rather punchy mini-nuke. Torval is straight out of Skyrim and he's the new assault. He has a clip dumping, full auto shotgun, a frag grenade that slams the monster with weak points and a mortar cannon on his back that reminds me of Alexander from the Final Fantasy series. Slim is the new medic that looks a lot like a bipedal bee. His primary weapon leeches health from the monster and causes a decrease in his healing burst cooldown. His burst is bumped up to be double the size of a normal medic's. He also has a healing amazon drone that follows a player and heals it. He also can poop out a spore cloud that masks the hunter's scent from the monster. Lastly we have a new trapper called Crow. Just call him Mordecai because his friend is definitely Bloodwing. Speaking of Bloodwing, he can throw him out to highlight monsters down a lane similar to dust tagging. His primary weapon will rapid fire slow the monster down but holding it for a charge shot will slow it to about the length of the slow grenade. His secondary gun does significant damage in rapid fire but it can be charged up to hit enemy health directly, no matter the shield.
I haven't played the Behemoth yet but I suspect there will be several awesome ability combos. Knock up+tongue snag, tongue snag+wall, tongue snag+wall+rollypolly and possibly even tongue snag+wall+throw lava+rollypolly the hunter into your lava up against your wall. The Behemoth reminds me heavily of Zrin from EA's Darkspore. Despite his slow speed, he still can get around but it looks like you are directing a pinball at times.
