Here's a look at 2003's F-Zero AX Deluxe unit from Nintendo and Sega at Flippers in North Carolina! I was VERY surprised to see this game offered at only two tokens a play! Sadly like every other F-Zero AX unit I've gotten to play the license card reader no longer works and I didn't bring a GameCube memory card with me to get some extra unlock points.

Sadly this game didn't do well in arcades. Due to the high price tag not many places offered the deluxe or standard models of the game which left many people unable to unlock the extra features in the GX home version on the GameCube.

The Deluxe model of the arcade game is amazing. The game has the usual four view change buttons like most Sega made racers and the seat sways from side to side in turns and has a nice force feedback kick to it when you crash or hit your boost. I also like the custom wheel the game has with the huge glowing blue light in the middle to let you know your boost is ready.

A real shame this didn't do better in arcades. I really hope Nintendo will bring back the F-Zero series. It's always been one of my favorites and I'd love to see it make a comeback.
