Practice for the Dutch Grand Prix is over and the fastest driver of the day was Lando Norris in the Mclaren. For once Max Verstappen in the Red Bull was beaten on a Friday but what does that mean for the race. Well we are going to take a look into the data from a hectic and incident filled Friday to see what we learned. Daniel Ricciardo and Oscar Piastri both had a crash in FP2 and the crash for Ricciardo resulted in a broken wrist meaning that he will be replaced by Liam Lawson who gets his first opportunity at a Formula One race weekend meaning the pressure is on if he wants to have a chance at a seat for next year.
Further down the field things are looking close between Ferrari and Aston Martin but the are way down on where they would want to be as Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll & Fernando Alonso are all struggling with the performance of their car. Finally Mercedes might not be fastest over one lap but they are looking strong when it comes to race pace which will give Lewis Hamilton and George Russell some confidence for a good race on Sunday.
