Friday is over at Budapest and the fastest driver of the day for once was not Max Verstappen but it was the Ferrari driver of Charles Leclerc but todays session was one of the most mixed up sessions of the entire year meaning that there was not too much to read into the times but we will see what we can learn. Alpine have brought changes and are seemingly closely matched with Mclaren but will that persist as the weekend goes on, we will just have to wait and find out. Can Ferrari and Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz take the fight to Max Verstappen and Red Bull or was it a one off well we will have to wait until Saturday.
Once again Sergio Perez had a difficult day after having a big crash in FP1, Mercedes did not post any fast lap times today and were focused on the race runs so we don't know where George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are in the pecking order.
Haas are looking like a team that may be struggling with race pace when compared to Williams and Alfa Romeo but will they actually struggle?
