F9 The Fast Saga Movie 2021 Final Trailer Easter Eggs + HOBBS AND SHAW References
5There’s a lot to unpack in this mini trailer for F9, including references to the past films in the franchise and the world as we know it.
At the beginning of the trailer, we get Vin Diesel talking to the audience about coming together to watch movies at the movies, which in most areas we can finally do again. Most importantly, he mentions how we use movies to escape. There’s a beautiful sentiment that tiktokker strawhatgoofy gave about the Fast And Furious franchise and that was how the Fast franchise isn’t used as a medium for political statements like most movies are these days, the Fast franchise seeks to take us the audience to a place in which we can escape our world. To provide that ultimate collaboration of action, humor, and of course, family, to just simply, entertain. And that’s what Vin Diesel is telling us. This movie will simply be the purest form of entertainment and nothing more.
Anyway, there’s a car being blown up and on a freezeframe of the car, a number reads 201. 01 can be read as 2001, which is the year the Franchise began with its first movie.
When dom is flooring it to the cliffside, you can actually see the bright blue nos coming out of the exhaust.
Dom asks Letty if she misses the old life. The old life he is making reference to is the life before the Fast And Furious movies became big action blow stuff up spy films. The old life is racing. You know Cipher in the last movie told Dom that the most important thing in his life wasn’t just family, it’s that ten seconds of freedom that he gets when he starts a race. I think that got Dom thinking, and I think this means that by the end of the movie, we may get that classic BBQ, but most importantly, I think Letty and Dom will leave the team for good. It even lines up with what we saw in the last trailer, with Dom looking at that video with Brian happy with his family. So, I think Dom and Lety will step away, but this could mean a resurgence into what the fast franchise was about in the beginning: racing.
Dom is holding a shotgun when he is talking to Letty, this is not surprising because a shotgun has always been Dom’s gun of choice, whether it be the first fast movie or the 6th or the 5th, etc.
Beside Tej in this scene is the magnets that the film is introducing.
Then there is this guy who is catching a freaking car. At first glance this looks like Dom, but it’s not what dom is wearing in this scene, so it can’t be. Anway, last time we saw someone with these abilities was Idris Elba’s character in Hobbs And Shaw with his super strength and what have you. So, the writers are clearly incorporating this plot point in the mainstream franchise.
then of course you got your Tokyo drift, and Han cameos- which we have already seen in previous trailers!
