This is the latest version of my automated artillery fort. Using a spidertron to start the blueprint, it automatically builds and arms itself and then calls the artillery train once the defences are prepared.

The included builder train is automated to load all of the needed building material and ammo, and to unload trash and excess items, with no interference from the player. Simply place the builder train blueprint* and connect it to your rail line, connect the needed fluids, and ensure all the materials are available in the logistic system.
*Make sure to set the train to auto as soon as it is built or the inserters will overload the train!

Once the slaughter is finished, follow the deconstruction planner steps to pack the materials back onto the train for re-use in the next fort. Leave no trace (except some bug guts!)
