When you first start playing Factorio with biters, there's nothing more devastating than seeing your beautiful factory demolished by an unexpected horde of biters. If you're unsure what defences are available, then here's a quick run-through of the following types currently available in 0.17 vanilla Factorio:

- Gun Turrets (regular, AP and uranium ammo)
- Laser Turrets
- Flamethrower Turrets
- Artillery
