360FACTORIO MEGABASE TUTORIAL & THEORY
This series will focus on how to start, build, and complete a Megabase in Factorio. The tips, tricks, builds, guides and theory in this series should help you build your own Megabase for the first time.
Episode 2 focuses on Using Factory Calculators, The Effectiveness / Power of Modules, and some good ways to make Test Builds using the Creative Mod, or the in game Editor. I show you Factorio Lab, an online browser base Factorio Calculator, compare two builds to show the power of using Modules and Beacons!
Once you get comfortable with a Factory Calculator, whether it is online or an in-game mode, you will be able to quickly see what your base needs and how to scale your builds and designs properly, as well as plan very well for the future!
Using Modules and Beacons can be incredibly powerful as it result in a significantly smaller build that consumes much less resources and in some cases is even easier to calculate ratios for and build. Also having a separate world to test builds and designs with some sort of creative / cheat tools will make planning your base a lot easier.
