In Fakeanoid, gameplay is very simple, but ridiculously addic￾
tive.
You use your mouse to move your paddle back and
forth across the bottom of the screen, bouncing the little steel
ball back up into the bricks at the top. Each brick you hit
disintegrates and gives you ten points.
Destroy all the bricks, and you can move to the next level.
Power Ups
Occasionally, when a brick is a destroyed a “power up” will
be dropped. Catch these as they fall and different things
will happen.
The different types of power ups are:
Teleport
The teleport power up moves every ball on the
screen to a random position on the screen. If
you can get the ball trapped above some bricks,
this power up can do a lot of the work for you!
Extra Ball
The extra ball power up generates another
ball on the screen (so if you have one ball,
you’ll then have two, etc.)
Multiball
The multiball power up generates four more
balls on the screen, so if you have one ball,
you’ll then have five, then nine, and so on.
The shield power up generates a metal shield
across the bottom of the screen, that keeps any
of your balls from escaping. Don’t rely on it,
though, it doesn’t last long!
The grow power up makes your paddle increase
The shrink power up causes your paddle to
The slow power up causes all the balls on the
screen to slow down.
The fast power up is the opposite of the slow
one, causing all the balls on the screen to go
Demolish
The demolish power up gives you a super ball
which will smash any bricks in its way,
and not come back until it hits the edge of
The laser power up gives you a laser on each
side of your paddle. Use the left mouse button to
blast through any bricks which aren’t blocked by
indestructible brick
Lives
On the Medium (default) setting, you will receive three lives.
On the Easy setting, you will receive five lives.
On the Hard setting, you receive only one life.
On all three difficulty levels, you will receive a free life every
10,000 points while playing the game.
Music
Fakeanoid plays background music while you’re playing the game
If you would prefer not to have music in your game, go into
the options menu and you can turn the music off.
Please note: The background music for the menu will continue
to play (there is no option to switch that off). It is just the
in-game music that gets switched on or off.
You can also select “random music” which randomly selects
a song whenever the current song is done playing, otherwise
the next track in the directory will play.
While playing the game you can use the multimedia keys
on your keyboard (volume up and down, mute, next track,
previous track) to change the song or volume level.
If you don’t have a multimedia keyboard, use the following
right arrow - next track
left arrow - previous track
up arrow - random track
insert - volume up
delete - volume down
