Chad had a few too many drinks that night, so when he stumbled into his house and saw a large figure rooting around his dresser he couldn't quite make out all of the little details. When he confronted the large figure he heard a soft female voice come from it. Chad figured that it was just a dumb mutie, many of them had bizarre voices that made no sense. Regardless of who it is the facts of the matter are that the mutant robbed him and that it needed to die. But right before he drew his revolver his vision focused and he realized that it wasn't a mutant but a suit of black armor similar to the armor of the men and women that raided his caravan and killed almost all but him.

After that attack Chad realized that he needed to get away, he needed to find somewhere safe to live. He figured that he would take what he could from the caravan company and move to the NCR where he could be protected by their superior military and live in a town with other humans.

Arya no longer felt anything when killing, she barely flinched when Chad flew to pieces, screaming and gurgling as everything that was a complex human being was reduced to meat and fluid. The armor protected her body, but something else protected her fragile mind from the evils that her and those around her committed. The spirits no longer spoke to her and this upset the Chosen One, however she believed that once she saved her people everything would be alright.
