Fallout 3 Stealing Independence part 2 of 3 The Declaration
Head straight to Button to avoid the security mechs. Take shortcuts if you can utilizing your repair or lockpick skill. There is a turret generator you can deactivate, but it's no big deal if you can't utilize it due to low repair.
When you meet Button, you can:
A) kill him which will turn the room turrets hostile and keep the security mechs hostile
B) offer to take a fake declaration by retrieving the ink well in the Arlington Library Archive rooms (I don't know if this turns off mech hostility)
C) Pass a speech check to trick him into peaceful deactivation and friendly mechs (though security turrets outside the room still shoot)
D) Deactivate him with Robot Experts Perk through dialogue (don't know if it'll make friendly mechs)
Exit how you came, unless you want to get yourself and Sydney cluster****ed by super mutants.
Remember to grab the Bill of Rights and Magna Carta on your way out. Just sweep the East Wing for the safes that contain the documents.
