The Divide has many caverns and caves that must be traversed in order to complete the main quest, but there does exist a particularly gruesome grotto housing a horny devil that you don’t necessarily have to encounter, I am of course talking about Rawr. Rawr is a unique dark green deathclaw that can be found lurking in a dusty cave near the Boxwood Hotel, until entering Rawr is none the wiser, in fact he can be seen sleeping, but upon entering Rawr will spring into action and begin to hunt the Courier. On top of that the cave will shake and the entrance will become temporarily blocked by falling debris, but before you can think about leaving Rawr needs to be dealt with and that can be done either through your preferred approach or through an alternative way that ensures an instant win. Inside the cave, beside a skeleton, is a bag belonging to Gleeson, an NCR soldier who managed to survive just long enough to learn that Rawr is terrified of fire and record her findings for future explorers.
Employing Gleeson’s approach of using Flares, Flashbangs will also work, will send Rawr running to safety for a short period of time, and this is where the player can use another weapon unique to the DLC to turn what is essentially a mini boss into a complete joke. Above the area where Rawr will run to, is an undetonated warhead, to reach this area several warheads will have already been detonated with the laser detonator in order to clear a path forward, so you can probably guess what needs to happen next. By using the Detonator while Rawr is preoccupied trying to escape the infernal fire, the warhead will explode and falling rocks will proceed to crush Rawr to death, and in one fell swoop we have instantly killed what many consider to be the deadliest Deathclaw in the Divide with nothing more than a flare gun and the world’s largest laser pointer.
