Once the King knows that the NCR is rightly pissed, he'll send you to break up a gun fight between Major Kieran's men and Pacer's thugs.

Make sure to approach Kieran with your weapons holstered. Her men are protective and will attack if they see a weapon in your hand. She'll agree to stop shooting.

Report to the King to receive your reward of XP and a favor.

The favor can be some cash (only 1000 caps), a fake Strip passport, Kings membership, or if you have the quest King's Gambit active, the favor can be a promise to cease all hostilities with the NCR.
