The two "squatters" with information are marked on your map. They're named as missionaries when you find them.

To gain info on a NCR hideout, speech check the guy closest to Mick and Ralph's pass a small trivia test with either guy. You can also steal a note from one of them.The answers to the trivia you might not know are Shady Sands and Tandi.

If you want to end the conflict peacefully, speak with Julie Farkas who will instruct you to drop her name when you speak with the NCR Major in charge.

Follow your quest marker to the NCR hideout. Use the password from the missionaries or speech check the guard on the left.

Inside, you'll discover that the NCR soldiers are actually doing charitable work dispensing food. If you mention Julie Farkas to Major Kieran, she'll reveal that some NCR troops are hostile to locals because an NCR envoy for peace was attacked when it reached the Kings' headquarters.

With that information, go report the truth about the conflict to the King, despite what his corrupt right hand man Pacer says.
