There Stands the Grass involves Vault 22, which is featured in 3 other quests besides There Stands.

So, might want to start Bleed Me Dry at the Thorn in order to save a trip.
Might also want to have 70 science or Veronica with you.

Approach Vault 22 by heading west from the Thorn; you shouldn't have to climb any mountains. The entrance to Vault 22 is through a bit of a valley.

Within the Vault,
There are no enemies until you reach the Vault's second level. You could shortcut the quest by repairing an elevator with 50 repair, but there's interesting things on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th levels.

Your enemies will be spore carriers, spore plants, and giant mantises. Spore carriers are kinda scary since they camouflage very well into flower and grass patches and can't be V.A.T.S targeted while they are dormant. Other enemies are simple to handle.

Proceed downstairs until you reach the third floor.
Entering from the stairs, make two lefts and go through the door on your left.
Being careful about being surprised by spore carriers, look in the back of the room for a food additive next to a terminal that can be given to Farber at McCarran for xp.

Now 4th floor.
The 4th level is the main living area of the vault. Head straight to the Overseer's office to open some doors using a terminal.
Now, if you couldn't repair the elevators, you'll have to find a keycard in a bedroom, backtrack to the 3rd floor, and go hrough some dark tunnels and Giant Mantises to reach the fifth floor.

The keycard is actually easy to find. Once you find the hallway containing the bedrooms on the lower section of the 4th level, the keyboard is on a shelf in the first room to your left. It is near some purified water and a teddy bear.

Loot the drawers in the room to get some Vault suits for Sarah Weintraub in Vault 21 hotel.

Fifth floor time.
Without elevator access, go to the third floor, and facing away from the stairs, turn left and go to the room furthest to the east to find a door leading to some tunnels.

Within the tunnel, first go to your right and loot the lockers of this room for 6 filters to be used in the quest Still in The Dark.

Go down the other way in the tunnel and possibly make Bleed Me Dry your active quest to track down a pile of mantis eggs for Red Lucy.

Now from the eggs, exit into the main section of the 5th level. In the room the tunnel ends, look near some vials and blue and green fluid for a Tales of a Junktown Vendor book.

Now, track down the stairs (near the elevator). Pick the very easy lock into the Living Quarters and go up the stairs to find a unique laser rifle. Now go back down into Pest Control.

Now follow your quest marker until you reach a blasted out door and some mantises. Off the insects and go down the hallway that you passed approaching the downed door.

Kill the spore carrier and enter the door by it to download the research data.
Now follow your quest marker into another tunnel network to find Keely.

Keely will instruct you to meet her at her base camp on the 2nd level (the Oxygen one). Follow her and she will repair the elevator.

From the 2nd level lab, she'll ask that you trigger a gas explosion back downstairs in Pest Control. Do as she says and take some grenades from a near by duffel bag in the same room as her.
You probably want to make your followers wait with her.

Back down, find two circular vents near the blasted out door where you killed some bugs. Make your followers wait in the server room if they are still with you.

Now the tricky/fun part. From near the server room door, throw a grenade toward the vents and run back into the server room, closing the door behind you and keeping your distance from it.

The fire should pass you without any harm coming to you. Alternatively, you could plant some C4 and detonate it before taking the elevator back upstairs.

Return to Keely and when she confronts you about the research data, you can lie, or kill her, or tell the truth and convince her to let you leave with 70 science or by having Veronica with you.

Return to Angela Williams to get a caps and xp reward. Then talk to Hildern to get even more XP and cash. (Make sure to talk to Williams first to maximize xp and caps.)
