I was struggling to get this crafting glitch to work, but I found out how to get it down consistently with little effort! On PC, cap your framerate to 30 FPS and set your Render Resolution to 200. Also, you need to VPN to a location that is pretty far from you or use your PC's WiFi to connect to your phone's hotspot. Otherwise, on console, you need to use the hotspot from your phone. This should produce enough latency or desync that will cause the crafting glitch to work without issue! Enjoy!
