This is a fast way to load and unload cargo from a cargo wagon using... cargo wagons. It transfers a wagon filled with ore within 313 game ticks or about 5,21 seconds. In the blueprint book are included blueprints for an odd or an even number of train wagons. You should use the odd blueprint only at the end of an odd numbered cargo train station(1-3-5-7 cargo wagons, etc..)


Using the same process you can fully load and unload an artillery train wagon in less than 3 seconds, 131 game ticks to be exact or 2,18 secs. This makes it highly unlikely for the artillery wagon to have time to fire against enemy positions and be able to use it mostly to transfer artillery shells instead. Only if the enemy is too close (less than 100 tiles) and in the direction the barrel of the artillery is pointing at, that it will have time to fire against enemy structures. With smart positioning of the artillery outpost station you can avoid that as well making it almost impossible for the wagon to fire automatically. Still though it will be in an almost constant movement, if you want to stop it to save fuel you should either have a "safe" refueling station or use signals and the circuit network to have it stop outside of a station during auto mode. Of course you should never use manual mode as well.
