I challenged Easy Builds to a speedrun competition in Evil Genius 2. Patch 1.3 did a full rebalance of the game systems and developer Rebellion said the goal was to improve the game speed and rate of progression. I've done a a few campaigns since the change and it is definitely noticeable, but it made me curious how quickly a campaign could be completed if you were playing for speed.

Evil Genius 2 definitely is not the type of game that lends itself to being speedrun, so here are the rules on how Easy Builds and I set up our challenge:
Medium difficulty -- Play as Max -- measure final time by in game days once you get the campaign completion message.
Pausing/speeding up the game is totally fine, play on any map and use any combination of DLC.

The challenge was super fun, and it made me approach the Maximillian Campaign in a totally different way than I usually play Evil Genius 2. I had to play light on henchmen, research, and most of the other things I use as "luxuries" in my other playthroughs. I'm sure I could be faster if I ran it again, but I'm already thinking about new and interesting challenges we could do as a rematch.
