The devs hit us with another Friday post breaking down the game systems of heat and suspicion and how they connect to advanced agent types. Should this information be readily available within the game itself? Definitely. But this still nice that we get these posts. I break down how heat is separate from suspicion and suspicion links with advanced agent types.
When investigators see different items in your lair it prompts them to cause their department to send various advanced agent types to try and counter those items. Check your items to see what advanced agent they will cause to be brought down on your head. Waves of soldiers are also triggered by a lots of agents being found M.I.A.
The most interesting part of this explanation is that it shows value to not killing/brainwashing investigators because that will keep soldiers off your back and dealing with rogues and saboteurs is much easier if things come to a fight. Trying to play as a pacifist will be very micro intensive and require the right henchmen but it sounds like fun so stay tuned for a video where I try just that.
