光神話 パルテナの鏡 (FDS Kid Icarus) - Successfully Haggling with the Shopkeeper
0This is the original Japanese version of Kid Icarus, released for the Famicom Disk System. Here I am using an original Famicom with the Famicom Disk System. You need a Famicom with a microphone on Controller II, the AV Famicom will not work, but the Twin Famicom and the Famicom Titler will.
You must hold down the A button on Controller II as you blow (hard) into the microphone to get the haggling to activate. You will only be successful if Pit has one more arrow than the world you are currently in. So in order to haggle successfully in World 1, you need two arrows. Hence the green Pit.
If you do not have sufficient strength, then the shopkeeper will raise his prices! Talk about making a tough game even tougher. A successful haggle will show substantial discounts, and early in the game keeping your health up is very important, especially during the brutal slog of 1-3.
In the NES version, you hold down the A and B buttons on the second controller.
