I decided to see whether you could kill Titan as soon as he unlocked in Chadley's simulator. The answer appears to be 'theoretically, but not really', though I only practiced the fight for about 90 minutes. The level gap means your attacks do no damage, with the exception of Aero, Sonic Boom, and the Chocobo/Moogle summon.

In any case, my takeaways:
* It doesn't seem to be possible to dodge his grab, so you want to save a Limit Break for it, since Limit Breaks have iframes (synergy abilities don't appear to have iframes, unfortunately, so you can't use those for this purpose). If you're far enough away when he starts the grab it'll whiff, at least.
* You have to parry everything, basically no exceptions, otherwise you'll spend all your ATB on healing. Even if you are good at parries you still need to heal your AI party members a lot, which is why I think you probably have to play as Aerith with Pray equipped to have any shot at doing this.
* The wind ability from characters' Folios doesn't do meaningful damage to Titan even though he's weak to it, so you're better off not using it.
* Maybe Aero spam could work if you spammed MP drain to keep Aerith's MP topped off? But I don't know who would be your healer in that case.
* Once you hit phase 2 (not in this clip, but I managed it once) everything gets way worse since it's impossible to break his shield fast enough at this level to interrupt his special moves. They do seem barely survivable if you're at full HP though.
